Ingredients

- 8 medium lemons
- 4 cups bourbon
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- fresh mint sprig (to garnish)
- lemon slice (to garnish)
Recipe
- 1 squeeze lemons, reserving rinds.
- 2 measure 1 1/2 cups juice into a large freezer-proof jar.
- 3 add bourbon,water and sugar and stir until sugar dissolves completely.
- 4 add lemon rinds.
- 5 cover and let stand at room temperature for 24 hours.
- 6 squeeze rinds into bourbon mixture, then discard rinds.
- 7 strain bourbon mixture and return to jar.
- 8 cover jar and freeze for 24 hours.
- 9 scoop slush into tall glasses.
- 10 garnish with a mint sprig and lemon slice and serve immediately.
