Sautéed Green Beans And Onions With Bacon

Ingredients

- 1 lb fresh green beans
- 4 slices bacon
- 16 ounces cocktail onions, drained
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cider vinegar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Recipe
- 1 trim green beans and cut in half.
- 2 cook beans in boiling water for 4 minutes or until crisp-tender.
- 3 rinse with cold water; drain and pat dry.
- 4 cook bacon in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until crisp.
- 5 remove bacon from pan, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings in pan.
- 6 crumble bacon and set aside.
- 7 add onions to drippings, cook 3 minutes stirring occasionally.
- 8 add sugar and thyme, cook 3 minutes or until onions are golden brown.
- 9 add beans and cook for 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
- 10 add vinegar, salt and pepper; toss to coat.
- 11 stir in crumbled bacon just before serving.
