Simple Syrup - Cranberry Orange For Champagne Cocktail

Ingredients
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup cranberries, fresh, frozen
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup ice cube
- 1/4 cup cranberries, frozen for floating in your cocktail
Recipe
- 1 place all ingredients except ice cubes in a medium sauce pan.
- 2 bring to a boil, turn down the heat to med-high.
- 3 cook for 2 minutes or until sugar is dissolved.
- 4 remove from the heat and pour through a wire mesh strainer, pressing berries with the back of a spoon to release their juices.
- 5 discard solids.
- 6 stir in 1/2 c ice cubes to cool.
- 7 freeze for 20 minutes to further cool.
- 8 add 1 - 2 tablespoons to your favorite sparkling wine. i love prosecco.
- 9 float a few frozen cranberries in the glass and watch them dance in the bubbles!
