Galiano (italian Liqueur)

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon anise extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 drops yellow food coloring
  • 3 1/2 cups vodka

Recipe

  • 1 combine sugar and water in a pan and bring to a boil.
  • 2 boil for 1 minute and immediately reduce heat.
  • 3 simmer for 1 hour or until thickened.
  • 4 remove from heat and cool.
  • 5 pour sugar syrup into a sterilized bottle.
  • 6 add anise extract, vanilla and food colouring.
  • 7 stir gently and add the vodka.
  • 8 cover and let the mixture sit for 10 days to 2 weeks (the longer the better) before serving.
