Ingredients

- 4 ounces rum (aged rum such as cruzan single barrel estate)
- 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- 1/2 ounce grenadine
- 2 egg whites
- maraschino cherry, for garnish
- 1 1/2 cups pomegrante juice
- 3/4 cup pure unbleached cane sugar
Recipe
- 1 for grenadine: bring juice and sugar to a boil in a medium saucepan. reduce heat and simmer to thicken slightly. let cool. grendine will keep, covered and refrigerated, for up to 1 month.
- 2 for cocktail: in a cocktail shaker, combine rum, juice, simple syrup,grenadine, and egg whites; shake well. strain into 2 chilled cocktail glasses. garnish each with a cherry.
