Sangria Slush

Total Time: 3 hrs Preparation Time: 3 hrs

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple
  • 2 1/2 cups dry red wine
  • 1 1/2 cups orange juice
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • lemon, rind of, for garnish if desired

Recipe

  • 1 several hours before serving: blend pineapple, red wine, orange juice, lemon juice and sugar in a blender at high speed for about 20 to 30 seconds.
  • 2 be sure all sugar is dissolved.
  • 3 pour mixture into a 9 x 9 inch baking pan or something similar.
  • 4 freeze mixture in the freezer.
  • 5 when ready to serve, take pan from freezer and let stand at room temp until softened.
  • 6 stir with a spoon until semi-thawed then spoon into wine glasses.
  • 7 garnish with lemon peel, if desired.
